O’Donnell definitely seems to have a certain perspective regarding what has been traditionally understood about Augustine. The tone is one of suspicion or at the least professional skepticism. Good read so far.

This book is best read slowly if you have that luxury. Definitely will require a second reading.

So far this book is really good. The candor of the author is refreshing. I hope his build up of his answers to unhealthy spirituality payoff and hit home and aren't an anticlimactic letdown.

Really good read so far. Wittmer has a witty and readable way of addressing complex theological subjects and misconceptions. This is one of those books I have to chew on every few paragraphs.
