Wow this a deep book and the slow burn romance is sizzling 🔥 Zoya is so wounded.

this series is a spinoff of a 4 book series about a crime family- needless to say the author in the intro tells you to stop and read the other books first which I did not so I am deeply interested but lost 😞

Guilt can cause blindness to seeing the actual circumstances.

I am enjoying the suspense and mystery but wish Sanaa would come clean to Marcus about her past so she can stop getting played by the killer. I have an idea who it is but will admit if I am wrong.

It is good - Charlie’s is patient with his daughter despite her entitled attitude. Tongue’s she didn’t know any better.

Totally enjoying this golden girls meet meets Ocean’s Eight book. All the 70’s plus woman have personality and vulnerabilities.

Sidney is pretty ungrateful and her entitled behavior is irritating.

Uneasy alliances are being born between young ladies who each have a trial to bear.

Horrible situations that are documented

It is crazy how the world building has progressed since the Breed series started! 👀

I ’member how my master used to would come and get my sister, make her take a bath and comb her hair, and take her down in the quarter all night, den have de nerve to come around de next day and ask her how she feel.” Sexual violence was ubiquitous throughout slavery, and it followed enslaved women wherever they went. 😞😭

I am also reading this book for lightness as I also read another book on that is harder on my soul. Persecuted breeds survived and are living 20 years later. One book real history, this one fiction but had the same wrong doing by people against people.

So well researched and reveals facts I never got in an American history or civics class that I attended.

I would hate to go back in time during war time and it doesn’t help that 5 years have passed since the real Anne disappeared. She sounded like a wild child based on Thomas’s description.

I got a crush on this character. Leonid McGill is smart, savvy and skilled. Live his clothes when he is undercover.

Lots of sex and blood 🩸 the Fae, magic, vampires and the petty prejudices they have against each faction is mind boggling. Telepathic communication between a couple would get me in big trouble 👿

Kind of crewed, just trying to finish it. Not sure why it’s not connecting with me.

Grim dating?

A concept I never considered for women of this period. Dress up like a man and live your best life.

Oh my goodness, this is another successful Ilona Andrews book to me. I love her Kate Daniels, Inn Keeper and so many other series and I can see this is up there too. Different but still full of knowledgeable, tough people with a hint of romance and a lot of violence from magical and political intrigues.

So difficult to get into - I will not give up before page 100.

It has the feel of an Ilona Andrews first book on the series. I’ve read all the books written by the duo. Blended magic and violence set in a book the MFC adores. Definitely going to finish!

Enjoying this historical romance with BW/BM leads. Grown azz adults doing adult 2.0 things in the mighty open plains.

It starts out pretty slow for me. His visit to his mother introduces Jane and her awful crew and the blackmail has begun. When he finds his mother in solitary confinement he plots with his friends to get a solution from a dragon.

Suspense filled with a tang a pain from the flashbacks and running into another person from her past. Leading the team in Tanzania Nena struggles to be an Elin role.

😳 Allie has demon essence. I would not still be in love with Eric/David. He should have told her when they got married. Now Kate has to deal with David/Eric and Stuart the new husband and father of Timmy. Typical 2-3 year old.

Oh my goodness, the past deeds come out to haunt those who got away with stuff in their youth.

I am loving KingFisher’s arrogant behind. Saeris and Fisher have become emotionally and physically entangled and even though it isn’t romantic I am feeling the vulnerability each is experiencing. I think we are about to see them work as a team - finally Saeris should exhibit fighting and alchemy “bad azz” moves, please and thank you. I have the read and listen and highly approve of both narrators
