I'm not new to Stalin era Soviet Union. But it's a shock every time I return to it.

Hyped for the finish

You can kinda feel the book trying to be a movie

Some might take issue with how simple the science feels in this intergalactic sci-fi, but it never really cheats out of an explanation.

Story so far hasn't failed to gain much momentum unfortunately.

Shouldn't be read right after Lady of the Lake I think

The narrative moves really fast, but think that negatively effects the emotional impact it could have had.

Blake's books feel more like a screenplay, the characters do start out a bit cliché but soon they get their hooks in you.

Aah, jade figurines. Think they'll be part of Witcher merchandise once Netflix catches up.

Hahaha another familiar name, put a smile on my face. Credit to the Witcher games and the DLCs which rivals AAA games in length and richness. They did justice to the characters and then some.

This is so easy to read, and feels like a downtime for our Witchers

This is more like it, it has the gile and atmosphere that Reason of State lacked.

The book keeps up the pace even though the content can weigh you down. Nuclear fallout and Soviet bureaucracy is a lethal combination.

The soviet bureaucracy threatened to derail the book as well, as shear number of names and titles can slow the book down. Specially when all the names sound soviet and bearers of the name act in a very soviet manner. But apart from that half of a chapter this is thrilling stuff. And written from a very neutral point of view, you feel bad for everyone involved in this catastrophe.
