Unreliable narrators and first person POV are rarely my favorite, but it works really well here. The central mystery is engaging and the unreliability adds a lot
The book is not subtle, instead exaggerating everything to the extreme to make a very important points about gentrification, race, community, how we treat drug addicts and much more. Calls back to the Tuskegee experiments really well.
