I have three editions of Les Mis and I had to read the introductions of all of them to find the completely unabridged one. I want Hugo's treatises on the battle of Waterloo and the Parisian sewer system, dammit.

It isn't really possible to accurately say where you are in a book where footnotes refer you to appendices and back to other footnotes and there are footnotes within footnotes.

For the record I would like to say that the murder hasn't happened yet but I do have a guess as to who did it.

In a lot of ways Phaidros feels different from every other Pulley protagonist, but his thing of "Maybe this guy is here to get revenge on me, either way he's paying attention to me so I don't really care" is so CLASSICALLY Pulley

Phaidros may be the most sadsack NP protag yet, I'm having a GREAT time

Reading this feels like working on a thesis, but only the fun parts, which is exactly what I want from all of my fiction.

I picked this up with the lowest of expectations and it's slightly surpassing them, which is nice.

I think the first time I read this book I didn't realize quite how good it was because I was comparing it to the Kingdoms

"Zane Grey Staker" is the most evil lawyer name I've ever heard. I can't believe he's a real person.
