There are so many talented people I've read online, I grieve for the books that never were.

At least you didn't make me cringe with the language. There is that.
Why though? There have been characters where even I am just like "fuck it, get it done so we can get over this tension." Your characters, while fun, were no where near that. I was surprised when they fucked!

shanna swendson/laura anne gilman are these the same writer?

the mc does not shine in this one like the first, but the story is memorable even to my fishbowl brain. Amazing worldbuilding with the dancer and old ones, my imagination does not want to let them go.

:/ it's annoying when secondary characters are just used as babysbreath, especially when they are specialists, and you make them fawn over your mc as she takes over their specialty. :p yeah, no.

this book is really resonating with what is going on in the states right now

I am fighting constantly with a sense of self, other, other kith/kin. I even divide up my facility into that floor and MY floor. It's ubiquitous and I need to find a way around it if I can because it's silly and arbitrary. Even though it harms no one technically, it's the seed of harm. Being an army brat does not help the matter at all.
