i forgot how much i loved twilight. i’m so glad im reading this again and gonna listen to the whole series this time around

still trekking through genesis and other scripture i’ve read before

listening to the bible in a year podcast. just finished Job and we are in Genesis 27 i think. Jacob lwk the worst brother ever and Job’s friends are also ops

really easy to listen without paying attention after seeing the movie. i feel like the book just fills in cracks

working this into my routine still. i listen to podcast + read the physical CCC so im taking it real slow. always great to read tho

easier read than Magnificat Humanitas (less technical/ complex imo) but definitely not the kind of thing to binge read. a lot of contemplation needed to really get what this is about

started taking notes. Book III really spoke to me. excited for the rest

being on my catholic journey ™️ made this book first feel irrelevant to me since i’ve already decided non-denominational/ protestant churches aren’t for me for the exact reasons he gives. now i hear it telling me “be Catholic, and convince everyone else to be Catholic” right now. obv the catholic church isn’t perfect, but if we’re looking for unity, where else but the Universal Church

with the CIY podcast, this has been just so clear about catholic teachings and especially the understanding of the deposit of the faith

it’s finally good (took 4hours, like 1/3 through) and i’m excited for the rest of the series

slow start. i just loved TATBILB and wanted another like it

listening to the book on Hallow so all i know is i’ve finished book 2… different than the writing im used to but i really really like it and feel the emotion and the devotion of saint augustine

i’m obsessed. it’s almost like i read til there’s something to wrestle with and then i like comb out the knot/ chew on it til i can grasp it. i love learning ab catholicism and having all my misconceptions corrected

oh it’s so good so far. i love trent horn’s youtube debates etc so i knew id like this book. already finished part 1 and am excited for part 2.

it seems it’s loosely a progression of like “why God” (why have a religion) then “why Jesus” (why Christian), “why the sacraments” (structures/ Catholic), “why saints & sinners” (beliefs/actions) and “why morality” (how we are changed).

so many things being revealed to me as i follow along with Fr. Mike Schmitz’s catechism in a year podcast— I love learning more about the Lord and so much of what i’ve felt my innermost being leaning towards is already written in the catechism. loving it so early on— only like 730 pages left

learned about the Liturgy of the Word. Quote that stood out and felt against what i have always believed: “Saying [the Creed] brings to mind that our faith is not personal— that it is communal, old, and vibrant.” Gonna ponder this one. also learned that the Prayers of the Faithful follow a structure. i just thought it was coincidental that they were usually similar. everything is so intentional; wow

following on Hallow— started it back over now that i have a physical catechism. very helpful so far

learning so much. i’m so excited for mass after learning more

in a really nice rhythm with reading the psalms and following my bible guide. it always feels so refreshing

finally got it back after my loan ended and i had to wait on hold. so much interesting info that makes so much sense but is highkey sad

i love reading this now as my last book of the NT for this year. i feel like it’s that missing puzzle piece to put it all together with our current times
