the last two chapters have been rage inducing to the point where i'm dnfing. talasyn barely even knows this man and she's ready to throw herself at him despite all of his heinous crimes, including against people she loves. also? we do *not* know what a slowburn is. just because they didn't have sex in the first half of the book doesn't mean its slow burn, they had an insta attraction from the start -_-

alaric has literally no motive for any of his actions 💀💀 this is soooo fanfic-y in the way it's missing certain development that you need for original works too 😭

trying to blatantly ignore the star wars fanfic aspect of this, though i'm not loving the way things are shown and then explicitly told to the reader like we missed something :/

lowkey have whiplash from going from holly's old writing into the Lament of Lutie-Loo, but overall i enjoyed most of this

finally finished book 2! 🎉 i'm glad book 3 seems to like it'll be a bit more focused on Roiben and Kaye again, i never quite clicked with Val, and Ravus felt underdeveloped

reading about val and her friends' decisions is hard, and tbh i was hoping for more fae and less addiction

finished book 1! not quite what i was expecting, but i did enjoy it. getting to see the differences between holly's writing from then vs now has been interesting, same thing with seeing the differences in expectations for what a YA book is
