So Disney...if they only wait 13yrs for Disneyland to exist! Can you imagine how magical that would be!

Cringy "love" scene. It's PG-13, no sex, just kissing, tousled hair, and eye-rolling dialogue. A scene straight out of "The Notebook" without sex. And out of "Titanic".

(p234) Aikra is "explained" but he's a pointless god with zero purpose or point. I don't get it still? Eating avocado, lol!!

(p167) Akira, a god, gets rounded up by the US government yet given his own barrack....I hope this gets explained because it makes hella no sense...because if the gods can be captured and put in detention camps...wtaf?

(p106) Ren knows secrets of the camp like ppl drinking booze and distilling booze but he can't find any secrets of doctors/nurses in a camp of 10,000 ppl and 10 doctors to help his sister...glaring problem with this narrative for a 1942 teenager!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(p102)Ren will ask a sketchy man from the creek with "some kind of power" to help his sick sister before he'll ask a human in a camp of over 10,000 ppl and 10 doctors....

(p95) quoting Star Trek in 1942...

(p76) runs into Kai & asks Kai's doctor father to come see his sick sister. Before that Ren, was spending his time trying to get under the barbed wires to get free air and maybe fish (p48) instead of asking around to the hundreds of ppl in the camp (of which there were probably more than the nurse that was on his bus) to help his sister.

FMC is so superficial & annoying as fuck as written, disjointed. At this early start, she could probably end WWII if it weren't for latrines?! OMG, who in the 1940s had to be told what a latrine was? (page 43) She's more concerned with the wrinkles in her dress and the canned apricots (p.48) as if those were her biggest fears. Also, no talk of being Japanese other than a few words

ch26- no, all us readers knew that Sammy knew about the cameras! Oh, how convienent that Sammy leaves with the only boat to the island, no landlines, no cellphones of course. Anthony the great director and planner would ensure everyone gets trapped...sure... let's see how us readers are supposed to "gasp" fall for this reality as everything has to be told to us to lure our feeble Betty/Lola minds!

c24-unfukn believable, a revenge fight is the whole point of this stupid book! Anthony wants revenge on Sammy & the fukn coward hires Mad's to be his beef. Then Sammy whoops their asses as if this were some consolation prize the author gives the readers. I'd rather eat bowls of whale shite or lick Burning Man toilets than read this book again.

c23 Lola is so full of shite. I think this is the author's smut dream; Lola is so hot & helpless and trapped on an Maine "island" (OMG, lol) w/4 men who all think she's gorgeous. Anthony loves her after a week, Sammy is obsessed because she looks like Darla, Mags the Runner sleeps in the same bed & flirts but doesn't do anything to her; Ben, her not-friend from HS Sophia boyfriend, thinks she's cute. GAG ME!

c22- dad death/suicide. A long, useless, and OVERWRITTEN chapter and explain fuk all nothing but does reinforce that her mom probably is right to hate her kid. Betty! Also, who lets their daughter stay in the bathroom with their parent who just committed suicide while the medics & police are en route? Nobody except maybe this stupid author

c21: everyone loves Betty/Lola at first sight, and now we get to the super cringey sex/romance. So, Anthony, a few chapters back, forced dye (he's an expert director and hair colorist, it appears) Betty/Lola's hair from brown to blonde and CUT her hair too. Of course she just let it happen, for hours no less. Whiplash... she talks to Anthony one way, but he does whatever he wants to Lola, but we all know it's Darla

ch20 so Ben & Anthony set up cameras all over the island for days...and Sammy never notices...then we get a flashback into Anthony & Sammy's beginnings, and Sammy knows since Anthony was at least 14yrs old that cameras and taking pictures are his thing...so much so that Anthony is nearly "raped" by Sammy....but fastword 10-15yrs later and Sammy is clueless about cameras & Anthonly's movie...yeah, right...

c18-19 Even her dumb ass mother hates Lola/Betty! Best news ever!

ch16-17 are you fukn kiddng me? Is this the plot revealed? It better not be as lame as this...

ch14-15 introduction of another stupid character, which was obviously going to be a problematic and the antihero as 'Lola' clocked in on Sammie the second she landed on the "island" Sammie's horrible, unrealistic, flat monotone dialogue - I can't decide who I want to murder Lola at this point.
I can only take so much shitty plot in a day. This has ruined me from reading other books, as I want to be over this one

Justifiable shitty...I've got whiplash from Lola aka Betty's inconsistent ideas/thoughts, actions, motivations, and now add a creepy relationship with her dad...ewwww.

ch10-11 this beotch, yes at this point I am talking the author and her horrible writing/plot/character...please let Lola die in this book. I am HATE HATE HATE hate reading this to the end just so the 1 star review is 1000000% justified. I just know this author is punking us with Lola...

Ch7-8,can't escape all the TOLD vs SHOWN writing! If I have to continue listening to "Lola" Wow, Lola hasn't clocked a single thing in 7 chapters & then suddenly in c8, which started with her missing the pier outside the house but inside the house, she's already noting & making outstanding observations about Sammy, "I didn't hear a boat on the lake, how did he leave the island, wow, his bed still has his scent?

chap5-6 OMG, every guy falls in love with this insecure manic at first SIGHT. OMG. Can't wait for her to become a fatality!

ch 3 - Anthony says his movie was overwritten...surely he meant to say this damn book was OVERWRITTEN and only 3 chapters in!!

ch 4 - OMG, Betty and her superficial comments about her looks, her mom's looks, her superficial comments about everything so far, chap 1- 4...again, are we talking about the stupid plot of this superficial story....

I hate this already and I'm not out of chapter 2 yet...reread chapters 1- 2 just to be sure I'm not drunk or something...
