I am in love with this book. The plot and characters are so enthralling. And sometimes I cannot stop myself from laughing out loud. I can’t get enough of this book. I’ll finish this review when I’ve finished the book. Then I’ll be going back in time and reading “We All Want Impossible Things” by the same author.

This is my first Jonathan Dunsky novel. I must say the press and advertising for this book is such that I could not imagine passing it by. And to then find out it is one of a series. And quite a unique one - a former Jewish detective who attempts to solve a murder behind the walls of Auschwitz. The writing is strong. The main characters are very likable. And the premise is something altogether unique.

I don’t normally recommend a book until I’ve read the entire thing, but “Real Americans” is the first book I’ve read this year that has really kept me up late at night because I can’t bring myself to put it down. The main character is appealing but not flawless, the plot is intriguing, and it has a focus on coming of age and relationships.
