Chapter 31: Is Slug the Real Kevin?

BINGO!

In the beginning of this book, Skye was so against her mom having psychic abilities that I almost wished it to be true. Now I’m not sure! It could go either way. Either Skye’s mom has always been a fake and is now twisting things around OR she has been true to her word and has this “special gift”. Who is guilty of the murder?!

At this point I’m about to go crazy not having a definite answer on who murdered Paige. Skye is now looking at Judge Bonnet, and this could quite possibly be true. But I have an inkling it could be Skye’s mom. Did Skye’s mom actually hear the last phone conversation Skye had with Paige? How else would there “visions” be so similar? Hmm, I had to put my prediction out there before the end of the book!

I'm in shock! Did they solve it?! I cannot wait to read the conclusion to this most interesting yet bizarre book.

Dear goodness, who shot at Blomkvist? And will something happen to Salander? I'm scared for them!

Man, I didn't realize Blomkvist was such a ladies man.

My mind is spinning. I still have no clue what will happen. I normally try to take a guess, but my guess is as good as any with this book. There are so many possible outcomes that I just need to keep reading!

Oooo, this is getting interesting! Not only is Blomkvist making headway with the Harriet case, but he will be meeting Salander soon.

Grr, Blomkvist, speak your mind! What are you thinking? What was that fleeting idea you had while looking at the photo album?

Why is she still under guardianship at her age?...Funny I ask this question and get the answer the very next page! Now I know her predicament.

The Vanger Corporation will be backing Millennium! What will come of this?

Hmm, my curiosity is growing. Who was Harriet? What happened to her? And what do the mysterious names and numbers represent?

Is Blomkvist getting himself into trouble messing around with Cecilia Vanger?

And Salander. Devastating situation. Why is she still under guardianship at her age? How can she escape this situation?

Who does this Bjurman think he is?...He's creepy.

Okay, so we are still character building and learning of these character's past. I'm sure I will be thankful for this background as the book progresses and will help me understand, but I want something interesting to happen...now! I am being a bit impatient, I know.

So many characters! Blomkvist is correct..."The Vanger clan consisted of such an extensive cast that it would take time to learn who was who" (p.117). My goodness! I keep having to read and reread certain parts to be sure I was reading everything correctly. The family tree in the beginning is helpful to look at too.

Frode, lawyer for Vanger, has reached out to both Salander and Blomkvist.

Vanger wants to find anything he can regarding Harriet's disappearance so he wants Blomkvist to investigate. If he agrees, Vanger can help Blomkvist's case against Wennerstrom. That is where Salander comes into play.

I have some other thoughts, but I will hold onto them for now.

Please forgive me if I am a little lost piecing this book together. And potentially spelling names incorrectly...but I'm interested to see how this all comes together. Slow start so far.

Will Armansky allow Salander to look into the Blomkvist vs. Wennerstrom case? What will she find?
Will Blomkvist help Vanger find out who murdered Harriet Vanger?
What do the flowers represent and who is sending them?

This is going to be a hard book to get through.
