It has been an easy read in terms of the author’s voice, and her narrative style. The format she uses alternates personal or anecdotal/lived experience with references to texts and scholarship around the text. The questions she asks are tough to answer. There is a lot to unpack, and to consider.

It’s slow going… I like it but there’s something tense about the characters, that prevents me from empathizing and relating the way I normally do. There are some structural elements that I really appreciate and some moving phrases and paragraphs that keep me engaged.
