I love the Agatha Christie of it all so far

Flying through this and loving every second

This is craaaaaazy

17 hours in and I’m only a third of the way done.
But I like how this is painting the picture of a world succumbing to a pandemic slowly and purposefully. So many post-apocalyptic stories leave things to the imagination. Sometimes I just want the entire story written out for me, and this is just that.

It’s good, but gosh Stephen King is weird
Also I wish when he went back to add those 500 pages, he would’ve also edited out the weird racist thoughts from his characters

3 hours in and I’m seeing why this is so long. This is the best slow-build I’ve ever read so far. No word is wasted. This is why King is the goat.

Am I really about to listen to a 48-hour audiobook?

This book has gone from 5 stars to 1.5 stars. A steady decline the whole time. Tempted to DNF but I’m so far in.

This guy’s writing style is in a league of its own. I’m loving it and audibly cackling.

I GET THE HYPE

Completely hooked

I’m on the edge of my seat. So far this pace is really good. Not too fast or slow.

“I have faith, because nature is the very best example of integration. Things grow differently when they’re damaged, showing us how to occupy strange new ground to bloom red instead of green. We can be found, brighter than before.”

“It gutted me to think about Denise, blue-lipped in the basement of a building that already looked like the future.” Had to read and re-read this line multiple times because of how good it is and all the different things it made me feel.

“I think you have to have faith in people before they earn it. Otherwise it’s not faith, right?”

It’s so stinking hard to put this book down

This book has already cost me 3 hours of sleep and I don’t care. Un-put-downable.
