I'm just getting around to reading this after having it for awhile.

Whether you believe Colavito's thesis or not — that Lovecraft's fiction directly influenced modern beliefs in "ancient aliens" — it's a bit of an "ah ha!" thing for me. I am really enjoying this one.

I was wondering where "Eraserhead" was, but I suspect the author picked "Blue Velvet" instead because "Eraserhead" was already covered in "101 Cult Movies You Must See Before You Die." Except I don't consider "Eraserhead" to be a horror film, but oh well.

Terrific so far... Eighteen-Bisang and Dalby have compiled vampires tales that are rarely anthologized.

Good stuff here.

So far, this reads like a really good vampire novel. Protagonist trying to find a more "ethical" way of fulfilling a murderous need? Personifying that need as a dark entity inside? Sounds familiar... in a good way. I think I will enjoy this one.

I am enjoying this. I wonder if the film version is going to be adapted from this book and its upcoming sequel. So far it seems a little brief to carry a movie.

I picked this up for Nook. I still love the first "Scream" movie. It's pretty neat so far.

I just got my copy of this. I saw it when I was in CA, and it's pretty neat.

This is a well-done book on the history of metal. While Christe uses Metallica's early career trajectory as narrative spine, that approach also gives this book an easy flow and his prose is always readable. Even when I disagree with the guy, I'm glad to see someone firing volleys at the stereotype that heavy metal fans are idiots.

This is a really cool book. Great photos, editorial insights that have personality rather than being "stuffy," this is definitely worth a look for zombie fans.

Collection of weird stuff that happened in New England. It's kind of like those "Weird N.J."/"Weird USA" books, but with less pictures.

I don't always agree with Auerbach, but she expresses her ideas in an articulate, thought-provoking way.
