Just noticed that I gave. 2 stars to a book by same author that I read in 2017 and have 0 memory of. Main character in that book was also a twin.

I thought when I started this book that I would remember that I have read it before cuz I disbelieve that I didn’t read such a talked-about and loved book. So far I don’t remember one thing about it. Did I not read it? or do I have a shit memory? afraid/sad that it is the latter, but looking on the positive side means there are that many more good books I can read for the “first” time.

Still stilted writing/cliche story line. seems like a parody of a bad mystery/thriller. there has to be a big (hopefully somewhat surprising & sophisticated) twist or else really dumb book. I don’t love Begley but this is BAD for him. Hate: main character and his instantaneous girlfriend having sex 3 times/night even when they don’t get started til midnight & go to work at the crack of dawn.

Such stilted writing. Is that intentional? Hate the no quote marks thing. Why???

I am pretty sure that I hate this book but I feel like I need to finish it. It is really pedestrian and full of cliches and the whole moth thing is over the top.

this is the fourth time I have started this book. iBooks says the furthest I ever made it was to page 160. I don't dislike it really. or maybe I do if I keep putting it down long enough that I have to start over from the beginning when I pick,it up again. I'm going to give it one final try
