So far, I love it!

I'm about halfway through this wonderful work of fiction and can see the writing on the wall . . . WWII was such a horrible war. For all the glamorizing we do of it, it was simply atrocious. Lynn Austin has done a superior job of reminding us without horrifying us.

This is a page turner! I'm about 1/3 the way through and ... well ... I'm turning pages, wishing I could read faster! :)

It's Christmas so I'm plowing into another of my favorite fiction author's work! It just KILLS me to have to stop reading ... but I headed up to my favorite used bookstore today to get the second in this series so I don't have to wait long between books. Also ordered Book III ...

Just finished and I am breathless! Such exquisite writing and detail and a story that will leave your heart pounding, if it can beat at all.

This truly is a wonderful read! I wish I had all day to do nothing BUT read it, but I'm getting close to finished. I'm worried about Josephine Bell, heartsick to know that Lu Anne's husband married Melly after her death. Ugh. The writing of this book is exquisite.

I had to stop reading because of work-related reading (editing two manuscripts and doing a final read of my own work DUST that releases in March) ... but I'm into the story enough now that I am absolutely in love with it. Worried about Josephine and wondering about Lina . . . what will she learn about Jo and what will she learn about her mother, who died suddenly. The writing is simply superb!

I haven't gotten very far, although the work is excellent. I stopped to read The Promised Land by Elizabeth Musser as part of her street team!
