Just read the chapter about the Wilderness (in which Longstreet was wounded a year and one day after Stonewall Jackson's mortal shot 💀🔥🔥)

It's been honestly a looooong while since I last read a book in earnest :'v, and once I started reading in earnest it was reading this tome. Glad I make a steady pace though :p

So, I actually started reading this when I read C&P, but you know what, 1. C&P is more demanding and 2. I cannot really read books simultaneously anymore 😅 (but why do it now hm?)

Like what many other reviews have mentioned, the sentences are best read slowly, leisurely. It is like inhaling a draft of heavy, musty air.

..... alright, so I guessed wrong, but there was really something awful though. the last book (2) hinted at things subtly so perhaps in the next book (3) the build up would be bigger, even with subtle narration. onto the book 3
