Okay, Nathaniel is an ass and I wish Pru would honestly be more of a focus as she is a so much better character than he is. Also wish she called out her brother more on stuff cause she was literally living under the villain's thumb.

I'm having such an issue with world building now. Like Nathaniel's sister. Did she not learn how tobbe an apothecary from their mom? What was she doing?

Wow yeah, Karina not giving her any support is wild. Violet doesn't know how normal life works.

I do find it wild that Karina just let Violet go on her own with 0 support whatsoever. Like clearly she's trying but having support of people who know who she is would be nice?

As someone who identities as agender who realized it around 30 I was very excited to read this until I opened it and realized it was actually about the intersex experience.(No hate there, just wasn't what I was expecting).

Selena not believing what is happening is so annoying. Girl, you had gods walking around your garden but monsters is where you draw the line? Come on now.

Man, this just makes me wish for a protagonist that just believes in the person telling them about the weirdness happening around them. This is a short book, we don't have time Selena to have a, "I don't believe in gods" phase.

Now that I'm thinking about it more, I wish the arm didn't push her off the bed because that would be even creepier than it just moves away.

We are finally getting some creepiness! I just really hope we keep the momentum and it doesn't go backwards like What Moves the Dead.

I really don't know what it is about her "modern" books but besides The Hollow Places, it just hits right for me to the point it brings me into the story. Maybe it'll get better as it goes on.

I'm going to need this series to give me a bit more workd building cause so far it seems like you need to be of Korean descent to have this ability? (Which, based on how the general public views it, comes with a whole bunch of other problems).

I am absolutely getting thrown off by the changes in personality. Trini was pretty out-going in the show so it's wild seeing her being apparently shy here?

I did a double take when I saw this book at my library. I personally do wish we would steer away from MMPR to other seasons but I'm curious to how this will read.

I don't know too much about the Amish but being filmed is a problem isn't it? Also I really need the murder to happen already. This beginning section is taking forever.

I'm honestly surprised her parents came in during book 2. I feel like that sort of conflict is usually further down the line.

Kind of annoying that again Bailey is a possible suspect.I can understand for the first book but after that you are sleuthing for the sake of sleuthing!

For some reason I managed to gloss over the "school" part of the inner flap and focused on the library bit so it's kinda disappointing this is a magical school sort of book(why is it always a magic school).

I know in these books we got to accept a certain level of stupidity in our protags but that was REAL stupid Violet. Like I am so close to DNFing based on the decisions this girl is making.

She literally lived in Chicago, a city. I think she would have gained some street smarts there.

The whole thing with Nathan and Grant is infuriating and Violet just kinda goes along with it which makes it even more annoying.

Okay generally I am not a fan of Violet's choices. Why would you even let Grant come with you? Come on now.
