I am absolutely getting thrown off by the changes in personality. Trini was pretty out-going in the show so it's wild seeing her being apparently shy here?

I did a double take when I saw this book at my library. I personally do wish we would steer away from MMPR to other seasons but I'm curious to how this will read.

I don't know too much about the Amish but being filmed is a problem isn't it? Also I really need the murder to happen already. This beginning section is taking forever.

I'm honestly surprised her parents came in during book 2. I feel like that sort of conflict is usually further down the line.

So being knocked out for like 2 hours probably means brain damage happened

There's a bit of meandering but we are getting there plot wise I guess. At least it's a fast read.

Kind of annoying that again Bailey is a possible suspect.I can understand for the first book but after that you are sleuthing for the sake of sleuthing!

For some reason I managed to gloss over the "school" part of the inner flap and focused on the library bit so it's kinda disappointing this is a magical school sort of book(why is it always a magic school).

I know in these books we got to accept a certain level of stupidity in our protags but that was REAL stupid Violet. Like I am so close to DNFing based on the decisions this girl is making.

She literally lived in Chicago, a city. I think she would have gained some street smarts there.

The whole thing with Nathan and Grant is infuriating and Violet just kinda goes along with it which makes it even more annoying.

Okay generally I am not a fan of Violet's choices. Why would you even let Grant come with you? Come on now.

Okay the fact her grandma ditched her was an a-hole move.

Second series by Amanda Flower I'm attempting and I'm already loving the fact the murder happened(and scene was quickly set) so we can go off and get to sleuthing

Wow, Cass is honestly super annoying. I was enjoying the general plot direction before she showed up.

100% enjoy the pacing of this one. We got the murder and the beginning of the clues and sleuthing.

Have to say, already enjoying the pacing of this one. I feel like we really went through the introductions to the premise and various characters in about 20 pages.

Interesting to note in the US edition this is the second volume?

But anyway, Hiro is honestly the worst. Like I get he's a kid but at the same time he's really a brat.

I can tell this is one of Macinerney's older books(her first or second book?) as the writing isn't as tight as the later ones. I'll see if I like this one or not.

It's been forever since I read book 1 but think that book implied Vera came to Shady Hollow after the city and she didn't have all this backstory in between. Ret-con I guess.

Alright, so far the Vera and Orville relationship hasn't been super annoying so a plus there.

I gotta say I can see her change in style from her newer series compared to this one. It's kinda slow in getting places. I'll stick with it for now but we shall see...

I need the murder to happen soon cause oi Nettie is the worst. I know we gotta set things up since it's a new series but I really want stuff to happen already.

I need the mystery to hurry up and take center focus. We are getting way too much family drama and willl or won't Josie tell Sam about her powers.

I need the murder mystery to happen as Josie's interactions with her mother are incredibly frustrating to read(a lot of half sentences and conversations starting and going nowhere)
