never has a book made me so bored that it made me stop reading for like 6 months. i'm trying to finish it now, and as much as i love Garth Nix's writing this is just painful to get through. i really enjoyed Sabriel so it's strange to me that this has put me off reading for so long. also the characters are bland and have zero personality, which is always fun.
