OMG I AM LOVING THIS BOOK.
Stoopid work getting in the way of me completely bingeing this in one go. Can't wait to get back to it tonight.

This is by far my favourite Penny Reid book. So last year, I bought the audiobook version. I couldn't get past the first 3 minutes! Joy Nash is great but the voice was all wrong.
I tried again a few months later, because I LOVE audiobooks and I LOVE this story. Didn't work. The accent was... off-putting.
This is my 3rd try and...something's changed. Or I've changed. Joy Nash has suddenly BECOME Jennifer! 🫠

4th time reading this and still loving it.
I've just finished reading about the night Claire meets Jamie for the first time... and even though this was my third re-read, I still could not put it down. From the moment Claire touches the stones to the moment she arrives at Castle Leoch, I'm totally lost in time with Claire. Gah!

So far it's okaaay, but there is still nothing ground breaking here. Many reviewers have noted how glad they are that the author could finally write this all down. And maybe for her it was cathartic and therapeutic. But for me... so far? There are other memoirs about abuse that changed the way I saw the world forever, that opened my heart and mind and made me go and hold my kids just a little longer than usual.

Unpopular opinion ahead so watch out...
I just don't get why this memoir was such a huge deal. I don't get what all the fuss is about.

This is one of those classic dystopian fiction books I've always wanted to read but never got around to it. When I saw an audio version narrated by the very talented, smooth voice of Noah Reid, I seized the day and got stuck in. So far?... brilliant!

Andrew Garfield is AMAZING! This narration is AMAZING! I am flaberghasted, flumoxed, and flustered. This is THE BEST adaptation I have come across since I first read this book in high school (centuries ago!)

This is my first Danielle Steele book. I am @ Ch.30 and it's been a heartbreaking read so far. Un-put-down-able and brilliantly narrated by Anthony Fusco, this definitely needs some trigger warnings as it describes scene after scene after scene of child abuse.
I can't wait for this little girl to be loved.

Wtf is going on??? I am really trying to like Joseph but AJ seems better suited to Miranda, Jane currently has no storyline (other than she's shy) and Siobhan is... well, restless? scattered? undecided? Either way... I love Beth's writing style but not sure I am loving this hero. I know friends are telling me to stick with it. And apparently it all turns out well... but I am skeptical.

Chiselled?
Darcy was chiselled?
Bleh."

I don't know what's wrong with me!!! I love Penny Reid's books. I love slow burn romance. I absolutely love high-IQ heroes with a chip on their shoulder. And this book? Check, check, check on all of the above. So why, why, WHY is it taking me so long to get through this book!?

I am loving this but can't wait for the book to be available on kindle. Currently only on audible and I am much better at being able to switch between modes. I've pre-bought the entire series and am tempted to read through it all at once when they're all released in a couple of months. I wish Goodreads had a "paused" shelf. 😊
