There's something ironic as this self-professed "mod" slags off Punch and Judy style with practically no reasoned opinion or justification the "trads" because of their "one sided Punch and Judy arguments with little justification or research".
Not an academically grounded, respectful or reasoned piece of work!

Part 1: Geoffrey the prep-school master cum soldier. Usual subtly restrained writing by Faulks. You're lead unsuspectingly down the path to find yourself in the depths of the death camp. And whilst you are brought back, like Geoffrey you as the reader are somewhat changed by the experience.

Clear speech being written in dialect or vernacula voice is fine, and I can just about cope with internalised voice. But there are no excuses for some of the mis-spellings in this book - such as "et" instead of "ate".

what a load of poorly written rubbish. How can an author who can't even use sentences win the booker of bookers?
