Jen is 30% done with Kiss of the Basilisk (Split or Swallow, #1)
I literally cannot continue trying to read this. The writing is terrible and the story is nonexistent. This is not for me.

Hmm. Did supporting Eddie really end Gio’s career, or was it because he shot himself in his hand and lost his finger? Love that Eddie didn’t state what the injury was when he showed to court, but he degraded every single other person possible for being “stupid/coward/dumb/etc.”

It is painful to read the court moments where the other seals testify. It is so unfortunate that they were not prepared for the stand. Camp Eddie likes to twist the wreck of it by saying they are lying. I see people who are nervous and unprepared for what was coming. Eddie, once again, goes out of his deeply Christian values to make derogatory and unnecessary comments about everyone against him.

Parlatore, Trump, Eddie, Andrea, Duncan Hunter, and crew. This just gets better and better-what an upstanding crew. I feel bad for anyone who was on the opposite side of them trying to do their actual job. What a shit show. The way these people act reminds me of a spoiled child who is causing issues but can get away with it, knows it, wreaks havoc, and then manipulates it to seem innocent and victimized.

It’s ironic that Eddie refers to his “accusers” as mean girls, yet he has made rude and immature comments about the body types of a myriad of individuals in the book. Hmmm.

I am falling down this rabbit hole and figured that I need to give Eddie a fair chance and read his side.

This is going to be painful, I can already tell. From Andrea talking about how she’s such a strong Christian and how everyone was being mean to her and she figured it was because her husband came home first to Eddie saying he didn’t even know what the brig was…lol. Come on now.

Jen is starting Dutch Girl: Audrey Hepburn and World War II
This is loosely tied to Audrey Hepburn at best while I was under the impression she was more of a focal point. It wasn’t what I thought it was and I found it dry and couldn’t finish it.
