Due back at library, so putting aside.

I'm resuming reading this book after having gotten it back from the library. I'll back up a couple of chapters to get back into it.

I'm putting this on hold while I resume 2312. Demand for this book from the Fulton County Library isn't as high as 2312 and I should be able to renew the checkout without having to wait the way that I did for 2312. Also, to be fair, I'm not far enough along in the book yet to have had it really catch my interest.

This was a fun read. Between this and The Human Division, I think that Scalzi's in his element when writing about future diplomacy.

Time to bring this back to the library. I'll pick it up again after it's available to me.

The structure of this book is very different from previous books in that each chapter represents both a complete story and an episode in the greater overarching story. Once again Mr. Scalzi has managed to tell his story from a different point of view, this one generally from the point of view of the diplomats of the Colonial Union (previous books concentrated on the soldiers, the special forces, and the colonists).

I'm through a lot of the world building and the party has come together. The party consists of a mage, a cleric, and a barbarian shapechanger, so I'm thinking that it would probably make for a decent D&D campaign.

I'm putting this aside while I read some library books.

This is a reread while I wait on my next library book.

I'm now apparently in the part of the book where time has moved past the events of A Feast For Crows. Despite that book feeling like a hangover from A Storm of Swords, I found myself enjoying hearing from Arya and looking forward to hearing from Jamie in the next chapter.

This is the second time I've checked this out, having gotten only to page 460 the first time.
