I can’t stand when books do the faking disability trope.

This is so so so cute. One of the main characters is a forensic investigator and is also fat? You almost never see fat lesbians in romance and you definitely don’t see successful fat lesbians. Especially those with OCD. I love all of this A LOT. I also like that her love interest isn’t super fem. Also something you don’t see in wlw fiction often. One thing that annoys me is that the cover model isn’t fat tho.

I love Dr. Chef so much. So wise and sweet.

I hate that Flint is so charming. If this becomes a love triangle…

So far this is VERY reminiscent of the type of supernatural boarding school books that were popular when I was in high school (over a decade ago.) The insta love is so real. Not my favorite trope 😅 Frustrating that her uncle and cousin didn’t give her a heads up on the whole supernatural thing. It seems so much more dangerous just not telling her? Not loving it so far, but willing to give it more of a chance.

I’m not like Sydney and Adrian bc if I stayed at a bed and breakfast that has a pet black squirrel I would simply be delighted.

This is the only book from the series I’ve only read once, which was six years ago. I’ve forgotten everything but the vaguest details of how it ends. This is so exciting for me 😂

All of Ms. Terwilliger’s 13 cats escaping from her house and then following her to the park and just keeping her company and chilling while she lays on the asphalt recovering from a witch battle is so fucking hilarious. I love these books.

I don’t ship book characters much anymore but God Adrian and Sydney will kiiiiiillllll me. The only pairing from high school I still melt from

God the fatphobia in these books are relentless. I know she’s just showing how insecure Sydney is with her body, but god she’s whining about being a size 4. A SIZE 4. I hate hate hate this part of these books.

I do love these books so much (and VA too) but Mead really really really doesn’t understand what an appropriate age gap is between love interests. First Rose and Dimitri, but even in this one Jill is 15 and everyone in the book thinks it’s totally fine that she goes on a date with a 19 year old college student. She is literally starting the 9th grade. A baby. Bleh.

Maggie Stiefvater writes so beautifully. Sometimes I read a sentence by her and I just have to stop and collect myself for a moment.

Everyone deserves a friend like Gabby.

This is so sad and I’m so pissed for Jennette.

This book is trying to gaslight me. I don’t hate that though. But I do miss Gideon, that delightful asshole grew on me so much in the first book.
