Taking a break before Part III to let all of Paul's many names sink in -- Paul, Usul, Muad'dhib, Kwisatz Hadderach, Lisan al-Ghaib, I'm sure I'm forgetting two or three more.

Enjoying the world-building and intrigue of this so far, even if it is a little heavy handed.

I got to the part where James realized the plot was so convoluted he had to give one character spontaneous unexplained amnesia so that another character could recap it for him.

"From where I sit, the story of Arthur Less is not so bad," says the narrator on page one. This is a story about an attractive white man who cobbles together an almost all-expense paid trip around the world and sporadically reflects on all the amazing parties and men he's slept with. I flipped to the end, and that line is repeated. If the whole book is to convince me that is story isn't bad, I don't need to read it.

Emily Witt's writing is so good, I weep a little

Quiet day in the children's section of the library, so I'm reading picture books that catch my eye.

"We become selves only by mirroring in ourselves the actions of others, who we want to be like. We are, in this very real, material way, made of each other, and so we exist [...] not alone, boundaries secured, working out economic exchanges between ourselves and those who we might dare to love, but always somewhere in-between."

Today I thought about going to the library to check out "The Shepherd's Crown," the final Discworld book. Then I remembered I'd already read it.

The more I think about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the more I like it. I might need to revise my review. Again.
