I finished “In a Lonely Place” by Dorothy B. Hughes out of the four novels in this collection for our Read to Eat Book Club. I’m going to read the other three novels in time.

The chapter when [SPOILER] Orville dances in the powwow had me in tears; because of the beauty of reconnecting with a larger community and the context of the stadium after, felt profound. It’s at times a harsh and painful and poetic.
