This is one of the most confusing books I have every come my way. Name dropping out of context and no guiding overview.

A fascinating book. Definitely worth reading.

Unlike earlier books, Noah Hurowitz had access to the El Chapo trial and documents. He has made good use of that material and filled in many of the “gaps” of knowledge. Of course, this means that Noah’s insights can only be true if his informants were telling him the truth. There is no reason to believe that they have misled him.
It is well written and flows- a d I look forward to the next 175 pages

This has turned out to be something different than I expected - and I have not been able to put it down.

Saviano is known for his books about Italian mobs (especially N'Drangheta) and I didn't expect his knowledge of Mexican cartels to be this detailed and informed. But what is most frightening is his knowledge and ability to expose the transnational links of organized crime and to expose how little we know about those links.

A pleasant reflective essay about our understanding and relationship with the natural world.
