I almost can't even continue to read this. The main character is hurtling towards danger despite acknowledging everything logically says not to. Makes her exceptionally unlikeable.

This is a DNF at page 101 -- midway through the chapter titled "The Way of All Flesh." The detail is reminiscent of Ruth Ozeki's *My Year of Meats* and Upton Sinclair's *The Jungle.*

I should know, and need to know, but can't stomach it.
