Man when I read heart of darkness in high school I truly did not understand it but I have the same opinion then as now: boring white nonsense

Anybody assigning students to read Heart of Darkness should also assign this book

(This is all about Congo, first the River then the territory, then I’m *assuming* it will get to the Revolution

I rly don't like the narrators for the audiobook, I wish I had read it in print but I can't fit it into my schedule lol

This is really good. I think I should get it in print so I can highlight but really really good breakdown of fascism and how fascists use bias, propaganda, educational reform etc etc to shape ppl to accept fascism

He is a very readable author, and I’m listening at 1.5x and it’s still fully understandable so kudos to narrator

“Our land” vs “their land” doesn’t require “them” to acknowledge the distinction, it is enough that it exists in our own minds.

The amount of notes I’ve taken on this book is incredible and I’ll probably read this again/get a copy for notes bc wow I loved this, so so good and interesting
