Have to admit, I was a little less excited about this storyline when starting and to be honest, I'm still not all that excited. 84% in and it's just kind of boring. Nothing is happening.

I really want to continue this series but I HATE the fmc in this book. It's literally the only thing stopping me.

This is the 2nd book I've attempted by this author. I'm starting to think she's just not for me. The flow of this book is all over the place. And nothing irks me more than having fictional fantasy characters not in a modern urban setting saying things like "fuck no". So far I'm bored and more annoyed than enjoying anything about this book. I'll keep going for a bit longer.

I’m on ch. 31 and I’m STRUGGLING! I’m sorry but I cannot stand Delora. She keeps getting worse and worse and I don’t know if I want to push through. I just keep thinking Magnar deserved so much better than her. She’s the worst female character I’ve read in awhile. The written character is bad enough but add the audiobook narrator and she’s totally insufferable.

Now knowing Sam’s history with her ex I still cannot accept her actions and behavior. And I’ve literally been through the exact same thing!!! The EXACT SAME THING. Maybe, just maybe, if she was literally anywhere on earth I could understand the paranoia TO A POINT, but she’s on a completely different planet! I’m struggling. I don’t understand her at all

My heart breaks for Leon bc he's taking Elise's true identity so personal and is so hurt. I'm a bit surprised he was the one to get so upset. Everyone else is understanding of Elise's secrecy and motivations. I hope they have a good heart to heart soon.

Cindy Lou sucks and why does Dante give her a pass? I don't understand why he babies her a little and doesn't stick up for Elise.

Olive is extremely dense. It's so obvious Adam likes her and she's the girl Holden mentioned Adam had liked for years. She would deny it even if the truth was tattooed across her face. She's 25, no 15. Ugh!

Not loving the 3rd person narration. I assume Olive lost maybe a parent to pancreatic cancer, hence her research. Lost my dad to pancreatic cancer so I can really relate to her passion for her research.

Took a break. I've got 3 chapters left in this book and the tension was killing me! I've really enjoyed listening to the audiobook, but the anxiety of waiting for the other shoe to drop is a lot. Ugh it's stressed me out big time!

I ate up the 1st two books but this one is dragging a little and it's bc of Keelie. She's so annoying! I feel like the story should be ending and I've still got 20% left. I can't get on board with her being so irrational.

I'm struggling here! It's been 10 days since I downloaded the book. I devoured Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire. I did read an entire other series before I started The Assassin's Blade bc I was feeling a little burned out already. I don't usually read prequels or novellas so I'm not really excited about this. I do feel like I should get through this book before I continue with the series. Ugh!!

I'm struggling a little bit with this one. I skipped around and read the end a while back so that's probably why. I may just call this one good. I'm not sure what I'd be missing.

Ugh this book is frustrating me but I can't put it down! Everyone is driving me crazy. I hate it when there are so many misunderstandings or things purposely left unsaid. The tension is killing me! Midas is killing me! I can't stand when the worst person seems to have the upper hand on everyone. I need some characters to get their heads out of their ass and get it together.

I'm starting to get a little bored. Auren and everyone else are still traveling and not much is happening. We're given more glimpses into the Midas/Auren relationship and the Queen (the latter I honestly don't care about). I have my theories about Auren and Midas, as well as King Rot so I'm waiting to see how they pan out.
