DNF. Too choppy and poor characters.

A cross, so far, of Lord of the Flies and John Irving, and I truly hope this book doesn't disappoint at the end lol.

Buckley is always hilarious! I shudder to think about what really goes on in Washington sometimes but this book came into my library online and is just the antidote to current political season!

I am basically screaming at my husband about the abuse these children were subjected to! How horrible!

Extremely well written and it was great to read about a president I really didnt know much about. As a nurse I was horrified by the fact that American doctors rejected Lister's facts on asepsis. Garfield could have lived if Bliss wasn't such an ass.

I guess it was ok. Since I know nothing about baccarat etc alot didn't make sense. Guess I will stick with the movies lol.

I think some of this was bogus. Bogus or not I didn't learn anything I didnt know.

I read Dark Places first so whule I enjoyed Sharp Objects it was definitely a first book. I like reading about Missouri places I have been to, I.E the Bootheel, Cape Girardeau etc.

Like some of the other reviews I read I am struggling to get through this book. Since I paid for it rather than going to the library (bought at airport lol) I am determined to finish it...but a thoroughly drag ass slog. Hoping it is worth it in the end.

I just cannot finish this book. Maybe it is because I know what Nixon really was like post watergate and can't get into Coover's version of him. I really wanted to like this because of John'S Wife but I don't.
