I'm loving this book. Set in 1700s India it tells the story of the female Hindu temple dancers and one girl in particular. Well researched history flavoured with romance and a touch of magic. Beautiful narrative superbly written. Also introduced me to Unbound.com a publisher with a difference making a difference.

I always enjoy historical romance fiction. Even though I grew up during the Vietnamese/American war, I know very little about the country, its people and its history. This fictional story, beautifully written by Dinah Jefferies, takes you into the heart of yet another wonderful part of the world all but destroyed by warring factions. Historical fiction can teach so much about the world.
