Another excellent holiday, MCs over 40 years old romance. I submitted my Audible review immediately after I read it, so I should be able to copy it after tonight.

I think it's been over a week since I finished my reread of this one. So good!

Charming holiday read!

I finished this charming 2nd chance romance earlier this week🫶🏽

My re-read status for the English language edition as of Saturday, 11/15/25. I'm tracking my French language edition status on my 2nd profile since there seems to be a glitch on GR that won't allow me to add a new edition without merging it with the English language edition's original finished book review stats.

Sometimes a book is so surprisingly good that I have to pause reading it because I'm not ready for the story to end.

Quick thoughts: I couldn't get quality or quantity sleep last night, so I read the last hour of this book via audiobook format. My dad's cancer was mentioned, and today I did a blood panel to test for the cancer gene since I'm at risk for breast cancer. I was curious about this topic and am glad I finally finished it on my 3rd or so library loan.

I learned so many surprising things about his career and his love life. And bonus, there's except at the end of the book of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I must add that one to my WTL shelf.

Something weird is going on with the French edition because Le Sang et Le Cendre keeps switching back to the English version. SMH in frustration, ugh!

It was a very dense read. It's a little dated now, but the author added 1 chapter for the anniversary edition. I finally finished it on Wednesday if I'm not mistaken.

I think I finished this one over a week ago and simply forgot to come on here and mark it finished. I'd forgotten how it ended, so I'm glad I made time to reread it.

I'm so confused. I thought this edition wasn't listed, doh! I'll have to update my original book review that I posted that combined the original audiobook format with the GraphicAudio dramatized format. My bad, 100% lol

My reread is via the Kindke app is going well. I'd already forgotten most of what I read about the band earlier this summer, so my reread almost feels like a first tine read. My library didn't have the audiobook copy available, hence the Kindle choice which forced me ti use the robotic text-to-speech assisted reader feature. I miss hearing the interviews in their original recorded format.

Quick review thoughts: I finished this charming read while running errands on Wednesday that took much longer than I had anticipated.

Gah, I wish so badly that this entire series was available in audiobook format with human voice actors. Instead, I'm stuck using the robotic text-to-speech to read while on the go in my car, walking, or exercising. Things are getting complicated in Black's quest to expose Brick. He's remote but jealous while also not wanting his wife to train on her Seer abilities with anyone else👀

I imagine Ross' coworker friend looking like the Rock as he admitted to reading romance because the ladies like it when you read what they're into or better yet read to them

I'm guilty of e-book shopping during Audible's 2-for-1 sale and Chirp's recent bundle sale. My TBR is already never ending, LOL!

My current reading ability vs. old reading ability:

I sincerely miss my old reading ability but am glad that I'm still a reader at all.

I finished this a couple of days ago. He was a brave man who lived by his principles so admirably. The narrator had an excellent vocal style that was easy to listen to and follow. Fuller review to come soon maybe...

I zoned out a few times on some of the early Congressional history for him. I had to rewind several times until I digested his career progress. I found it interesting that he got a few things incorrect in his first book because I woukd have thought his co-author would fact check the dates. Human memory is so malleable that it's kind of scary to know one can't rely on it consistently to be accurate🤔

I finished reading it a few days ago⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Full review pending⏳️but I really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading the previous books in this series of stand-alone contemporary novels.

I'm just so shocked and bummed about Emily and don't understand why Kenda didn't get out of her investigative cover sooner.
