So many fistpump moments in part five.

Way to set a scale : have a prologue, and have the next chapter set 4.500 years after.

Wait, another prologue? It just happens to be an absolutely epic fight using some of the powers Sanderson designed for this series. I want to see that fight. I want a game designer model a system after that; I'm not all about fights, but when they cannot really get better than this, both smart and badass.

“My name is Stephen Leeds, and I am perfectly sane. My hallucinations, however, are all quite mad.”

That's quite the beginning. Being just out of Brian Michael Bendis's run on Moon Knight, I am quite eager to see how Sanderson manages a similar character (although Leeds is a functioning individual whereas Mooon Knight is batshit crazy).

It feelslike Valentine Michael Smith has had the book stolen from him. He's strangely devoid of any agency despite his incredible powers.

I did not expect to enjoy this book that much. It's fantasy trope aware, it has this ragtag group feel we all love (yes you do, don't deny it), it has witty dialog and flawed characters.

It feels similar to what Joss Whedon or Brian Michael Bendis would have done. I'd say Firefly/Cowboy Bebop in a fantasy setting.

So much sexism, so much man vs gov rants! I don't really know Heinlein but Harshaw feels like an author surrogate.

I did not expect to enjoy this book that much.
