As penance for buying this SNORE of a novel when I had NEVER heard of it, I have to now read TWO books off my shelves that I had heard of and WANTED SO BADLY that I haven't finished in over 2 years of owning them.

I don't think this is going to go how I want it too!!!

Despite abandoning this one the first time I tried it, it is quickly becoming a contendor for my favorite Culture novel. I know.

So far my biggest problem in this book is the quest for whoopie pies. The most popular bakery in trendy Los Feliz has them. Hollywood types love that place.

this is orders of magnitude better than his other books since Matter, but man, I still want to do absolutely anything else rather than read it

On one hand this novel is a character I feel like I know and is just so precise in a fictional way, but on the other, why does it have so many real people? It is completely distracting.
