There is a softness and a slowness to these books that belies them. Just when I thought this might be working too hard to improve on the original, it hit a place of perfect magic that any crafter would love, and then soon after a bit of horrifying magic that just about made me ill but was well-earned.

I haven't needed a car encyclopedia this much since Twilight. You know, I miss that about the Twilight series.

Can definitely see the nods to Little Women here and there. Which warms my heart, naturally.

Pretty thrilled that this book is about Aornis. Jasper makes you feel like she's messed with your memory, too.

Enjoying this immensely. Didn't really know it was the hot new thing when I picked it up, but I can see why it is. On a writerly note, talk about an exercise in killing your darlings!

This is so clever and so different. I can't say that I'm loving the audio, but the ten-year-old in me is definitely loving this book.

Just flying along with this. It is so different from Stiefvater's other work. And honestly I'm still to the point where I am just trying to absorb how different it is. Can't deny that I'm enjoying it and it's speeding along. Invading my dreams, even. But I'm still just tumbling along.

I have a feeling the end of this one will make me glad I already have the second.

Enjoying this more and more as it goes on. Still some weakness in the characterization, but more than made up for in imagination.

Really enjoying listening to this. I have a feeling the second half will be less fun than the first, though. We'll see.

Tim Curry is the perfect narrator for these books. Really enjoying this and wishing I had more time to listen to it straight through, as I want to know what is going on.

So glad it's the weekend and I can finish this one up.

Have been really enjoying getting back to this. I love you're resourceful this girl is. And how well she plays her talents. Some if it would seem convenient if it weren't so very well earned.

The research that went into this makes it such a good read. The twins, on the other hand, do not. But the awesome lore way outweighs them.
