I'm still reluctant to put something concrete on I feel about this so far, but I am quite determined to finish it and write a more complete review. Most parts frustrating, others sparsely intriguing.

Murakami being Murakami zzz can't wait for the actual mystery in this story to take off. Quite a number of awkwardly placed scenes so far but then again this is Murakami.

I don't know why but reading this I feel a mildly annoying itch...

Not too bad although some parts are a little draggy.

There's something wrong with Esth- I mean, Rhoda.

Edit: I keep inwardly swearing each time I finish a story. I'm not entirely sure if this is a good thing yet.

I'm finding it rather difficult to go through the book. The author is a brilliant writer, but the language is at times very academic and it takes time to process as a reader.

I'm laughing, but mainly because the metaphors and terms are so flowery.

The preface is uh, really long.

I already enjoy this volume more than the first. All my favourite unsettling stories are in this volume.
