I have been eager to read this book since it came out, but I have only recently had the opportunity to do so. It's exciting, a concrete analysis of the 2020 uprising.

Really upsetting to try to read the book during the genocide in Gaza. As Toscano quotes Gustavo Petro in his recent piece for Verso blog, the attack on Gaza serves as "first experiment to deem all of us disposable". We see signs that the new fascisms of the future, fermenting in the present, may eclipse historical fascism.

It deals extensively with the black radical tradition's view of fascism, very helpful.
