You guys, why do both Calder and Dakota sound and act like 13-year-olds?? I’ve been told this gets better, so I really hope it does… (I was also reminded it’s loosely based on Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, and those brothers were pretty ignorant, so I’m trying to look at it that way.)

Okay, I’m enjoying this story, but the male narrator does every voice like it’s a woman… and it’s one of the worst female imitations I’ve heard in a while. He even does the higher voice when it’s the MMC’s thoughts. Not gonna lie, it’s kind of ruining the story for me.

Ch 73 of the audiobook… Boone is acting like an ignorant schoolboy. Face-to-face with an Olympian god and he’s acting like that…? Oy vey.

Oh snap. She’s been called out. Also, she really just comes across as dumb.
I really do like the way JJW writes, but this aspect of it is wildly unbelievable.

Okay, after hearing Cleo’s mental agony over how she will hurt her sister if she stays around her, I was expecting something way bigger than what the author plopped down. Legitimately 0% reason for her to have changed her last name. Or for her to run. *SMH* Wondering what kind of research actually went into this.

I love it when the title is used in the book!

Wait… he’s worked with her father for twenty years, yet she’s saying he’s only 32?? He’s worked for her father since he was _twelve_??

Well, I can say I honestly didn’t see that coming.

This is giving “horny guy wrote the FMC; guy wrote the MMC trying to make him someone women want without knowing what women want.”

Okay, the male narrator is a bit annoying. He has an amazing voice, but I swear every sentence has an inflection at the end so it sounds like a constant string of questions. It would be almost perfection if he didn’t do that.

The story itself is interesting enough, but Lore is a bit annoying. Probably because she is a bit of a fiery terror who doesn’t think? It’s amazing she survived as long as she has 😅

Okay, maybe I just think Jonas is horrible because Rey is probably end game. If that’s the case, please, Demi. Don’t make Jonas become a Judas and turn on Silla. Especially now that Silla has figured out what she figured out about herself.

Okay, yep. Rey is for sure end game. Now I just need Sills to realize Jonas is not the man she thinks he is.

Okay, Jonas gives me the ick. There is just something about him that I really don’t like. Rey seems to be end game.

Oh, she did [redacted] DIRTY. Granted, it’s been a couple years since I read the first book, but I did NOT see this character change/arc coming. It’s like [redacted] is a different person.

“She has to enter her own trials again.” WTF?? She already survived them once, but she needs to do it again to prove she can be queen? Oh, hell no. I’m sorry, I highly doubt anyone would buy this as why she needs to do “trials” again - Kitt should know this is the people wanting her dead instead.
