How. How is this book rated so high? I almost stopped at 30% but I saw the booktok video and I am hoping for a plot twist that I don’t see coming 🤞

I need a great KU book more than I need fries. So like.. a LOT.
Kindle keeps suggesting crap or books I’ve already read 😒
I think I have one month left on my membership then I can start digging into my library of 156 paperback and ebooks I haven’t cracked open yet..

Beautifully written but boring..

...the first day took up TWENTY-FOUR PERCENT of the book. Just the first day! This isn’t “slow burn” (for one they obviously are starting to bond on the first day of meeting, please excuse me while I scoff in irony), secondly this is like when people embellish their paper hoping it will stretch it to the required pages. Emphasizing the color and movement of the trees, the every detail of everything.

Ugh.. “Millicent”.. like a cross between “millipede” and “maleficent” every time I read it *cringe*
I’m sorry if you come across my review and have that name, you can make fun of mine.. it’s like my mom thought I’d be a stripper or something.

2:49 AM and I’m about to crack open a new book, what is sleep?

18% in and still constantly sobbing. Fuck.

She is very meek which is frustrating to me as a reader, I can’t feel any connection with her. Story is going very fast paced while also somehow slogging along as well.. so far it’s not as good as book one.

I’m pushing through because I paid for this book, but so far I am not enjoying it. The writing style is my very least favorite, 2nd person is fine but when you’re doing both people as second person with no paragraph or chapter gaps between whose thought process you’re talking about, it gets confusing and old SUPER QUICK.

Sooo many inconsistencies.. how did this get 5 stars from everyone I follow 😒

so far so good, a little cliche at times but interesting enough to not put down.

Oh..my god. This book is frustrating me to no end. He treats her like absolute CRAP and then belittles her saying her anger is like a silly little woman tantrum. And she eats it up, every “kind” gesture after he demolished her feelings. The feminist in me is raging. I can’t believe the audacity of this author to create this monstrosity it’s demeaning and offensive to women

This might not be slow burn but god d*mn the tension is real!!!

Also let me just say that I stayed away from this book since I first saw it pop up on my KU list because 1) it looks like a YA (yes I totally cover judged and 2) the blurb made it seem suuuuper love triangle which I HATE
But oh. My good lord. This book is not for teenagers (in my opinion) and as for the love triangle I strongly suggest others to read it whether they love or hate those. So good!!!
