I have a hard time with reading nonfiction, which is why it took me so long to start reading this; I shouldn't have worried, though, because Wang's writing is just as captivating and engaging in print as it is on the internet.

Ah, there's the rape I was expecting. That's cool. This book should come with serious trigger warnings. Not sure if I'll finish it.

This is actually extremely stressful and part of me is wondering why I'm reading it. There should be some warnings for abuse on this book.

What a quick & enjoyable read.

"More often, people use psychiatric terminology for its DEROGATORY tinges, its implicit transport of the abnormal into realms of the quotidian." followed by discussion of language echoing movements of the day. so cool.

I may have a problem in which I think I can read a million more books than I actually can at once.

Me: Agh, stop talking about "the prototype". That's not how you word!
Book, 2 sentences later: Actually, it was no longer a prototype, now it was clearly in production...

whoa this is hard to read. So much loss.

I'm not sure if this is finishable.

Why am I reading this and where are the female characters?

I downloaded the OverDrive app to read this from the library on Kindle, started reading at the library, got a headache from being so confused about what's happening... when I realized I somehow started a few chapters in. Now it's better. Don't remember who recommended this; the library just tells me I can have it now so I am reading.

It's a train wreck of a story: I can't look away. But also excellently done.

This is one of those "Can't fall asleep too busy reading" books.

On the one hand, mmmm sci-fi and fascinating plot. On the other, argh no agency in female characters. May read this book with many breaks.

Not sure I'll like this book in the end, but I'm going to make it there.
