Ah, and now I am reminded why I love Anna Godbersen books. The girl can write. When people really have a talent for it, it makes all the difference! Some people can only tell a good story, that doesn't necessarily make them good writers. So it is kismet when both meet and the result is a fantastic experience for the reader.

What would have made this story even slightly redeemable is if we went back and forth between Adam and Mia's perspective, so at least we aren't getting annoying and miserable 24/7. I want to know what's going on inside Mia's head, since she is the one we came to care for in If I Stay. Maybe it's just been too long since I read If I Stay, but as I recall, it was about much more than this superficial stuff.

In 145 pages, all i've read is how much Adam hates his life. He gripes n moans n is pissy about everything. Why did the author, who wrote a moving, deep story in If I Stay, think such crap made a good sequel? Who wants to sit and read someone whine about everything for 260 some pages? N why is it in Adam's perspective? I thought this was Mia's story?

This book is also one that you must absorb slowly-It's not a fast read. This story is in no hurry to finish & there is something I can appreciate about that. There is something I like about the languidness of it. The story becomes richer, deeper. I find the characters so tangible, their thoughts & feelings characterized so beautifully. And I cam captivated by a human rawness only achieved by the greatest of writers.

This book is much more "adult" than I thought it was going to be. So it would not be for anyone sensitive about sex/sexuality stuff. It's nothing too explicit, like a romance novel, i think it is just very honest about it, doesn't gloss over it, gives a little more detail than someone more conservative would like.

This is a really cute read. I can see a lot of the author's personality seeping through the characters, not sure if thats a good or bad thing. I do laugh out loud sometimes, the humor is really charming, but sometimes I cringe at the sillyness or I worry about how long it is taking to get to the climax of the story. I do really like the characters very much and I am excited to keep going and see what happens.

I don't really think I am liking this book, nor am I going to like it any time soon. It had a lot of potentinal, but it's just the writing that's really bothering me. It's so elementary, it doesn't captivate me, & the dialog is... corny? contrived? And Jane is NOT an appealing character. She seems like a "woa is me" my life is so terrrible feel sorry for me prissy stick up the butt girl.

I find it slightly odd that there was this whole part where Tea's mom just dies, out of the blue, but there's no fall out. There's no crying, no grieving, it's like the author just skipped it because it was inconvenient. I find that really insensitive and a little bemusing. Tea and her brother seem to be perfectly fine with it. Like "Oh, mom died. Whatever. It happens." I'd be freaking out!

This book gives me the creeps, in a "I'm easily spooked by imaginary goblin creatures", way. Writing is good so far. Though, occasionally I do become a little lost at what is happening or what is being said and I have to go back and re-read. Although, this might have been the early 1am hour in which I was reading it that is to blame.

Kelly is 10% done with Dash & Lily's Book of Dares (Dash & Lily, #1)
This first chapter is probably the best first chapter I've ever read. It was flawless. The humor was spot on. Dash sounds British, or at least European. He doesn't speak like a New Yorker in my mind. It took me a couple pages to like Lily though. I wasn't sure at first... We'll see if the story keeps up...

I was a little scared to start another book because I was so unsuccessful with Water Wars & Delirium--I was even beginning to fear something was wrong with me but alas, it is not! I am intrigued and scarily fascinated with this story. The author writes so simply, but somehow it is just enough, and done well. I'm so interested and I am actually invested in these characters. I care.

I cannot believe I'm saying this because I had such hope for this book, but I am just really not impressed or entertained with the writing or the story so far. Some of her metaphors are really throwing me off too. She keeps comparing the heat to a wet tongue... yuck. And compared a girl's facial expression's to a cow's. Like, really? This is not the Lauren Oliver who wrote Before I Fall.

Hmm... still bored. Kinda a snoozer at this point. Rushed and a little jumpy. It's strange, he sets up a problem and not even fifty pages in you can already presents the solution. Lets just hope this is not going to be as predictable as I'm thinking it is. I am still staying completely open minded tho, maybe it will get better.

Wow. Literary. Genius. I can't believe how there I am in Andi's life. I can see her so clearly. And it's bc of the the writing. Oh gosh, the writing! Everything-the emotions, the scenes, the people are all so vivid & bright & clear. Everyone is blindingly real. Though some of her vernacular & band & song reference goes over my head, I'm feeling pretty forgiving right now. We'll see if this keeps up...
