The Core: Last part was not the worst but at this point I just don't care anymore. I'm just glad it's finally over. There is one more short novel that seems fairly uninteresting after the main story is finished.

The Skull Throne:
More of the same. At this point I'd have to say I don't recommend taking on this series of books. Towards the end they killed off some main characters leaving the leftovers even less interesting than before. The main storyline was nice but very little of the book was dedicated to it.

Messenger’s Legacy:
Another sideshow short story about a character in following books. Nothing too interesting.

Daylight War:
This series just keeps going downhill. This book introduced more uninteresting flashbacks in the arab stereotype world that is weak in itself. The romance drama makes you cringe and the erotica that was introduced definitely does not induce "stiffening in the pantaloons", like the writer might say. The final moments of the book were OKish and there is hope that the series will take a turn for better.

The Desert Spear:
The book had good parts but big part of it was redundant - where the plot is heading was revealed in the end of the first part. The desert nation is boring and the rape and incest parts unnecessary. Probably writer was going for more Game of Thronesy storytelling but it did not fit well in these books.

Brayan's Gold & Great Bazaar novels:
These short stories filled a little bit of the gaps in the first book. I would prefer a proper book instead of short stories though. The depiction of the desert state is quite bad, picking up the most obvious and worst stereotypes of Arabs and Islam. Hopefully it won't play big part in the other parts of the series.

Rather a collection of short stories than a proper novel. Good read but I was expecting something more.

Zoe's Tale 2/5
This book was just retelling the story of the previous book with some teenage drama added. Also the dialogue is starting to bug me. It does not seem like real people talking but a written dialogue.

Zoe's Tale só far is disappointment. It is telling the story of the previous book Last Colony from the perspective of teenage daughter of the family. Nothing new at all. I hope it is over quick or skips a lot but so far not looking good.

Bloodshed and fight over colonies... Reminds me of certain current events.

The Ghost Brigades:
4/5 Slows down a bit and introduces some interpersonal/species drama and introspection of transferred consciousness. Still some good action!

Old Man's War:
This book is amazing! Not a single dull moment. The plot goes on like a train. The dialogue and the characters are good. Telling the story from main characters point of view Scalzi builds up an interesting sci-fi universe. I liked especially how in the beginning the book goes from 10% sci-fi to 110% in one chapter.

Ahh I wish it was over already!!

There is nothing even remotely interesting in this book. I forget what I read by the time I reach the next page. But since I started I'll finish even if it takes years =D

Damn. Lost the book in an airplane :P

Description seemed exciting. War of Satan and God and all. The first book seemed to me incoherent gibberish but I'll give it a chance still =D

Nothing interesting ever came of "the twelve". I hope the last book surprises me. No quitting now after wading through all that =D

This proved to be a boring read and very long one. Halfway through seemed there was finally something interesting happening but soon the book jumped 50 years forward to introduce more and more boring background stories.

Seems like a neverending prequel... Get on with it :)

I'm enjoying but this the end of chapter 7 had some weak storytelling. Completely unbelievable twist.
