Hazel is a little too over the top but Josh's Korean name Jimin is described as "sounding like a sensual exhale" and "the hottest name she's ever heard", and I'm still reeling, so I looked it up and one of the authors is a BTS fan *looks at the camera like I'm in the Office* (so anyways, I'm def going to keep reading and then I'm gonna write a romance about a broad shouldered man named Jin who makes dad jokes)

I had to hurry up and finish Every Single Secret because I was getting the narrators confused even though they have totally different stories, hmmm

this is approximately my 3rd attempt to read this book, I have never made it past the 2nd chapter and I don't know why, but I have an innate compulsion to read books before seeing any adaptation so maybe this one's the charm

I know I've read this before but I never said so here apparently. Also I'm glad to see that goodreads does not have the cover that my kindle's does, of the new movie adaptation, even though wanting to watch that is also why I'm rereading now. The note from Agatha at the beginning of this that it was a pleasure to write will probably affect my reading now, for good.

the format of this book is useful for filling the couple minutes at a time of downtime at work except that it keeps making me react including trying not to cry in public damn it

I wanted an ebook to read between helping patrons but the second letter about watching the Bachelor with Anna Karenina her lap and feeling smug but never getting around to reading it it is literally something I've done and I don't know if I can read this one in public

this feels a bit formulaic but despite seeing it come from miles away I'm kind of mad at the author for doing that to the best characters already, in a way that feels almost sadistic, almost tempted to drop. probably not making sense but it's like expected of the premise yet seems almost unfeeling to the characters themselves, and the whole thing strikes me as being written to be a bestseller family story, you know?

the style of the flashbacks feel odd and I feel like the plot should be moving faster. but the atmosphere somehow does feel a bit like a much slower paced Australian Tana French (who I am dying for news of a new book from now that I think about it)

pleeeease let there be a twist soon because the predictable yet slightly too implausible machinations of this mean girl are getting boring and I don't really get her motives

An interesting concept, and lots of development for every character but if only it could just move a bit faaaassstteerrrrr

I won a copy of this from goodreads at the beginning of the year but either it never turned up or it disappeared from my porch the same way a box of skincare stuff from korea did around the same time which, no, I'm not still mad about, obviously. anyways a gray day at the library seemed a good time to get around to our ebook copy at least

I'm hesitantly interested in where the premise is going but it is dragging tbh and we're still basically in the set up somehow

while I still love these books, there are obviously a few things that 15 years later are quite problematic; one which is how much unwanted physical "fondling" as Georgia often puts it she experiences and jokes off, and often then receives mild shaming from her friends for. At least in book...6 I believe? Dave punches Mark for it but jeez it's a common theme I'm realizing I really brushed over as a kid reading these

A Healer reference, which makes me feel honestly giddy that's how much I love Healer. Everyone should watch it, and I mean everyone. (I apologize to anyone who follows me elsewhere and has seen me say that 100 times)
