The story of William is so far as riveting as that of his friend, Thomas.

A few more chapters but I'm not sure I'll finish it.

Just met the family; likable.

mmm... not sure about this one. I don't like Gilbert, yet.

Gah! I can't keep comparing everything to Poldark! I also know how this ends.

The prologue was rather long but a buildup to what is to come. The problem is that the prologue ran on too long. I have thought about stopping reading the story... but, not yet.

I've totally forgotten what this story is about. Now I'll have to start again.

This is such a slow story for me. I blame myself, though, since the writing is great and I so loved the first book in this series.

Nearly finished in three days!

I took a long break from this story but I am back. I am surprised by how easily I picked up the thread of what had gone on before I stopped reading.

Oh no... trouble on the horizon for the lovers!

Right in the middle of Iraq! This is sticky.

I love how Whyborne and Griffin are not simply two men in love but two humans in love. In the midst of trouble in Egypt they are portrayed as two different men working to solve a mystery whilst keeping themselves and their friends alive.

2 steps forward, 4 steps back. Ugh.

I have nothing but love for these lovers. Dear Griffin, his parents are in Widdershins and parents, even if they don't mean to, complicate matters.

I am only continuing on because I paid for this. The writer is great at her craft but I hate the back and forth in the development of her characters.

I'm getting tired of this. Ainsley takes one step forward and two steps back. I had hoped for strength and growth after the 3rd book but he has just withdrawn. Bleh.

Who are these people?! I liked the first book for Ainsley and Margaret were written as two people from upper crust society that were breaking the rules of that society. In this, they are two people that are constrained by society rules and disdainful of those "beneath them". Blech.

This is SCARY! I've been reading this at night, by Kindle-light in a dark bedroom, and I keep jumping. Gads!
