I’m not crying while reading about their reunion, you’re crying.

I'm obsessively reading this book now and it has shook me to my core and I honestly don't get why, but I'm choosing to believe in the effect of the eel in our understanding of itself and how this author wrote this book.

I am obsessed with reading this book. It's like part zoology and part memoir and part prose poetry. It's baffling and overwhelming at the same time.

Also hilarious that Freud started out his career trying to find eel testes and never found them, and became obsessed with reproductive organs defining our psychology later in life. Also he struck out with women.

Nell is delightfully kind of unhinged? But I love it so far.
