I'm finally interested. It's like a mystery, a puzzle you have to fit together, gathering clues from these people's thoughts. Yes, thoughts. Everything is stream of consciousness, no narrator so far. You have to concentrate because you never know when a clue will jump out. This guy is thinking along one track, then suddenly jumps to the past, to the thing that happened, the thing we're curious about.

How do you stop reading a book that is "the most difficult but also most beautiful Faulkner novel." =/

Still trudging through.

Started this in Singapore! It's fascinating content, but skimmable. I've sorta lost interest, having gotten enough goodie, and there's nothing that makes me curious enough to keep going.

Oh, what a trudge! But how do you stop reading when it's "Faulkner’s masterpiece and one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century." I do like the stream of consciousness, and that we'll get to see from three perspectives, but gosh, it's taking so looooooong and getting (seemingly) nowhere!

Man, she IS like Chekov. That first story is a DOOZY. She definitely understands the nature of man.

It's exactly like Summer Lightning! Two couples getting engaged to someone else to spite each other. An old man helping them with strategies. Someone trying to steal the pig. Lady Constance being funny. A strange secretary who ends up plotting. Still so much fun!

It's boring still! Fast forwarding the Duke parts still.

I finally upped the playback speed to 1.5. I'm getting impatient, need to know what's happened. I don't need all the details of the hair salon appointment with a third of the book left to go.

What a great what-if: what if a woman with parkinson's disease tries to solve the murder of her daughter? It's slow moving, but I love it. This is my kind of book.

I am LOVING this listen. I love what this author has done. We're in her head. Is it stream of consciousness? We're finding out the story as she thinks about getting out of her chair to go to the train station.

I'm enjoying this a lot.

It seems like the author took blog posts and made a book out of them. 1985, though, no blogs then. He wants to capture everything, which I appreciate, but I'm just not that interested.

The most exciting thing that has happened so far is stone table got moved.

I'm hoping a story develops before I get bored and move on.

I want to back to Edwin. I miss him. I liked him. Will I ever see him again?
