As much as I love the Red Rising universe and Pierce Brown's writing, this book and I just didn't get along when I tried starting it last year. I'm going to set it aside and come back to it once I've had a bit of a break.

I really would just like for the man to write about people pissing on people/things a little less. What's with all the piss, Pierce?

Alright, so, I haven't read this since I was an official beta reader prior to the book coming out. It seems like all my friends are rereading right now, so I decided to join in. We'll see what I think this time, I guess!

second read for trans rights readathon

setting aside my other two reads for the trans rights readathon! i have low hopes of finishing many books so i'm starting with something shorter

So excited to finally get my physical copy of this! I didn't want to buy it on Kindle because I think this is a book that needs to be experienced as, well, a physical book. I've been watching Milo for years and years and I can't wait to dive into this.

This has a too-quirky-for-its-own-good vibe. I might be striking out today.

Attempting to buddy read with the gals

This is interesting but I don't much like Rachel. Putting it down for something else for the moment.

I was informed that I must read this immediately, so here we go.

I was supposed to be doing a buddy read of the whole trilogy with my mom and grandma, but some people that aren't me have no patience so I get to shush them so they don't spoil the second and third books for me now.

Since American Demon released, I decided that I clearly needed to reread the whole series.

I'm struggling through this because I have yet to encounter one even remotely likable character.

Gets herself arrested, when she's about to be let off lies about being a streetwalker so she can get sentenced to the penal colony that her enemy is in charge of. Playing stupid games right now. Back to the tbr shelf because I can't do it right now.

Having an incredibly difficult time getting into this so I'm going to shelve it for now.

I'm enjoying the read, but holy shit does this woman abuse commas. Poor commas.

Yeah... King of Scars gave me a good bit of nostalgia for Alina's story and the Darkling, and it's been long enough since I read the original trilogy that a refresher seemed due anyway.

Okay! Finally in the mood to end up swooning over a Horseman of the Apocalypse (again).

I finally actually started this and I'm trying very hard not to judge it by the last book I finished.

Reread time! Need to get the details fresh in my mind before I get to The Dragon Republic.

Okay, now that I'm past all the introductory setup, it's getting interesting.
