Parker knows cops and police procedure. He's got to be the best in getting inside the minds of law enforcers. Best cop fiction I've read. His hero, homicide detective Robbie Brownlaw, comes across as the real deal.
Hard to believe that Parker was not a policeman. He was a Southern California newspaper reporter before turning to writing novels full time.
THE FALLEN is a tightly spun mystery and a love story.

Actually, I'm not reading, but listening to Archer's audiobook. Love this story, filled with twists and turns. I'm on Disc 4 of 5. Protagonist Danny Cartwright is not your usual hero, but his rough edges and tendency to get in trouble make him more intriguing. He does have a bit of larceny in his heart.

Have stuck with Grisham's story about a corrupt Florida judge, in bed with a mobster who has taken over a Native American-owned casino. Our heroine, Board of Judicial Conduct officer Lacy, is relentless in taking down the judge and the mobster. My favorite character: Lacy's overbearing brother, Gunther.
Grisham's yarn has grown on me, but I doubt this is among his best work. Stay tuned.

Intriguing look into the world of Secret Service Agents King and Maxwell, brought together by similar major screw-ups while protecting presidential candidates. Unraveling the mystery behind each incident makes for an entertaining read. Not sure where it will lead, and figure the ending will be bittersweet.

An intriguing look behind the scenes of the Secret Service. Ousted Agent King character thoroughly 3-dimensional. Enjoying the unfolding mystery of two separate cases that brings together King and

Cleverly plotted. Steeped in history -- real and imagined. Good stuff on presidential assassinations, Secret Service, and more. Been a Meltzer fan for a long time. He doesn't disappoint.

Set this aside. For my third novel (manuscript completed and twice edited), I want to publish through an indie publishing house.

Coben's created quite the sense of humor for Bolitar, his protagonist. It keeps me engaged. The story, however, does not intrigue me as much as I'd like. But Bolitar is a lovable guy, thanks to the author., so I will press on. After all, Coben is famous for his surprise endings. Can't wait.

Had not read Meltzer for several years. Glad I came back to him. This Culper Ring novel is laced with a healthy amount of assassinations of presidents. Just the right amount of historical fact to spice up author's fiction.
Beecher is quite character.

Keep falling in and out of interest with this novel, but find myself soldiering on. Too many characters to follow. Intriguing plot. in short, I'm conflicted.
