Courtney is starting The Complete Maus: A Survivor's Tale (Maus, #1-2)

Wow. So good. A painfully honest depiction of both family members and circumstances. Maus I had me openly crying at some points. Unlike some other graphic novels I've read I appreciated that this one had a strong/sufficient conclusion.

Courtney is starting You Can't Touch My Hair: And Other Things I Still Have to Explain

At first I had mixed feelings. Her self rating of the book seemed to imply it was for a white audience and then I was like, "wait, is this for me?" Most of the book I thought it was a 3, but somehow if I were white I thought I would rate it a 5... Then the essay about perceptions of the angry black woman turned it around for me. The last hundred pages were really good. Also, kudos for mad pop culture refs throughout
